This quick healthy hangover smoothie is just what your body needs after having one too many at christmas. The ultimate hangover cure that doesn’t involve a greasy fry up.
Let me guess? You had one too many, and now you’re paying for it? This means you most likely didn’t take my advice from previous post on how to stay healthy during the holiday binge. If you woke up this morning with a splitting headache and that dreaded furry taste in your mouth, not to worry. I got you covered!
There is a healthy way
A few years ago, I would’ve probably been in the same position or worse. Quick to take a couple of aspirin and wash them down with the hair of the dog, (Gin & Tonic) then heading straight to the kitchen for the greasiest fry up I could conjur. What can I say, I was young and didn’t know any better, don’t judge me! Ten bucks says you’ve probably done it too at some point;-).
Luckily, I created this awesome green smoothie recipe that not only helps soothe that nasty hangover but also nourishes your body with essential vitamins, detoxifies AND helps relieve bloat. I always add a scoop of my super greens supplement too, although this is optional. When you have been drinking, your body is left seriously lacking in nutrients. This supplement is a nutrient-dense powder that is full of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and anti-inflammatory agents to help get your body back in good shape. Here’s what you’ll need:
2 cups of spinach
1 scoop of Sculpt Nation greens supplement
1 cup kale
1 cup coconut milk (I use Vitacoco)
½ cup orange juice
1 large banana
½ cup pineapple
1 tablespoon of rice malt syrup (If you prefer it sweeter, although personally I don’t add this)
1 cup of ice
1 Cup of kiwi sliced
1. Mix spinach, coconut milk, orange juice, banana, pineapple, honey and ice together and blend until smooth. Bish, Bash, Bosh and Voila!!!
Tip: If you don’t have fresh pineapple, feel free to substitute with strawberries or blueberries, frozen fruit will also do the trick. I also added some barleygrass, spirulina, wheatgrass and maca superfood powders to mine, because I’m extra like that. You don’t have to add it if it’s not your thing, it’s totally optional.
So you see? It really is a quick hangover smoothie cure through and through. All you need is a decent slow juicer, the ingredients and you will be on your way to a hangover miracle! Plus, as you got more than your 5 a day in as well, you have my full permission to feel like a total boss after you drink it!
