Body shaming, a long-standing issue in the health and fitness industry, begs the question: Has it reached new heights lately? We’re familiar with the backlash against ‘fat shaming,’ but what about the subtle body shaming aimed at those pursuing a fit and healthy lifestyle? It’s time to address this phenomenon that often goes unnoticed.

 In a world where bodies vary in shapes and sizes, the definition of being fit and healthy shouldn’t conform to a one-size-fits-all standard. Surprisingly, there’s a significant amount of online body shaming directed at individuals working on their health journey. While fat-shaming is rightfully condemned, comments about being too skinny or too muscly often go unchallenged.

Having embarked on my own fitness journey, I’ve personally encountered judgmental remarks about my appearance, body size, and even accusations of showing off. It’s disheartening to witness the lack of boundaries and the sudden surge of self-appointed experts commenting on personal lives. It’s time to put an end to this – let’s strive for a more compassionate society.
