Hello Lovelies, so I’ve decided to start a new weekly post called Amanda Millie’s Friday Female. I’ve been wanting to do this for a while and I actually don’t know why I haven’t done it till now to be honest. I have grown up with so many strong women around me who have really inspired me to the person I am today, and I think there is nothing more beautiful than women celebrating other women. I would love for you guys to get involved as well, if there is anyone in your life, work or whatever form whom you consider worthy of being in the spotlight, then please drop me an email and I will be more than happy to feature them. This poem is called “‘That Kind Of Love’, by Rebecca Lammersen, and the first time I ever read it I was blown away. It was like she had reached into my soul and seen my heart’s desire, and was now holding a mirror up to me and reminding me not to settle for any less that what what I truly want. Two years later and I want to share this you, not for any other reason than to appreciate and acknowledge how beautiful true love is/ can be/ should be. The original article containing the poem can be found here. If reading this doesn’t stir up something in you, then gosh….I just don’t know! As for me, sign me up to THAT kind of love please:-) It’s a little on the long side, but totally worth it. 💖
That Kind of Love
Yeah, I believe in love.
The kind you can’t hide from, you know?
The kind of love you miss when
he gets up to go to the bathroom,
or to get a glass of water,
and he walks back in,
like a soldier, comin’ home from an eighteen month deployment.
That kind of love. View Full Post
I can’t believe it’s been a little over a week since I launched my blog. It’s always so nerve wracking to take that first step and put yourself out there, but it’s got to be done.
I definitely think taking part in the 30 day blogging challenge has given me the push up the backside I desperately needed. If you’re just tuning in, here’s a little recap of the best of Amanda Millie week one……. View Full Post
The 5 quotes that changed my life….seriously!! This is no joke my friends. About 6 years ago, I was at what I would call my darkest hour to date. I was depressed and alone with nothing to live for, (or so I thought) and my love for literature was my only fortress.
I have always LOVED books, from when I was a little girl, so I guess it’s no wonder that I turned to reading when I had nothing else going for me. Ok, ok, I know this is starting to sound like a pity party for one, so let’s get to the good stuff, shall we?
I have collected these quotes from several of my favourite books, and I hope you find some inspiration in them as well. View Full Post
