It’s Friday!!!!!! Which means I have another inspiring lady to share with you, and this time it is the go-getter that is our Friday Female:Teurai Chanakira! This young lady never fails to impress me with her determination, resilience and discipline that allows her to fearlessly pursue her dreams and make them a reality. She is lawyer, turned model, turned fitness trainer extraordinaire. Tee and I have actually never ‘physically’ met, although we’ve been virtual friends for over 5 years now and shared many a Skype date where we literally spilled our guts out to each other, shared our deepest insecurities and biggest dreams with each other. This young lady is a true friend and quite an inspiration to my life. So without further ado, Lets get on with the questions shall we?

Body Shaming!!

The body shaming phenomenon is not exactly new to the health and fitness industry, but has it actually gone too far lately? I wonder…..

 Everyone knows about ‘fat shaming’, and we’re all very clear on how wrong it is, even going as far as scorning those who partake in such behaviour. “That’s nasty? What kind of person fat shames other people?! Ugh!!!

I have to say though, one type of body shaming, that I hardly ever hear people address is that of ‘fit people’. So by ‘fit’, I mean those people who decide they want to eat healthy, they want to workout and be strong/have more energy…be fit! We all know that our bodies come in sooooo many different shapes and sizes, and saying that, there really should be no (one size fits all) definition of fit and healthy. I’m seeing a lot of body shaming/name calling online aimed at people who are simply trying to work on their health. Somehow it’s totally wrong to fat-shame, yet we have absolutely no problem with telling someone they’re too skinny/muscly etc. seriously???? I’ve been on this fitness journey for a couple years now, and actually had to deal with people telling me I was starving myself, too skinny, not toned enough, showing off, the list goes on. I find it so sad that there are no longer any boundaries when it comes to this and everyone suddenly is an expert on YOUR life. It really has to stop, let’s try and do better as human beings. Ok, I’ve got 3 booty exercises to score a sexy toned tush just in time for summer!

No, that’s definitely not my booty above (gosh in my dreams right?) ha! But saying that, I have been on this fitness journey of mine for a couple of years, and there’s a few exercises that I’ve noticed provide more visible results than others.

DISCLAIMER: Before I go any further, I have to mention that I am NOT a qualified trainer, and therefore all information provided in this article in purely my own personal opinion and advice that I received personally from trained practitioners. This has worked for me, but I would recommend you talk to your trainer/doctor whoever before starting any new type of exercise. Phew! That’s a bit of a mouthful isn’t it? The ultimate hangover cure that doesn’t involve a greasy fry up.

One too many, and paying for it? Yup, that would be me right now *hangs head in shame*. I never realised what a lightweight I have become with alcohol, till I woke up this morning with a splitting headache and that dreaded furry taste in my mouth. A few years ago, I would’ve probably been taking a couple of aspirin and washing them down with the hair of the dog, then heading straight to kitchen for the greasiest fry up I could conjur. What???? I was young and didn’t know any better, don’t judge me! I bet you’ve done it too at some point;-)
