Quick Healthy Hangover Smoothie!

The ultimate hangover cure that doesn’t involve a greasy fry up.


One too many, and paying for it? Yup, that would be me right now *hangs head in shame*. I never realised what a lightweight I have become with alcohol, till I woke up this morning with a splitting headache and that dreaded furry taste in my mouth. A few years ago, I would’ve probably been taking a couple of aspirin and washing them down with the hair of the dog, then heading straight to kitchen for the greasiest fry up I could conjur. What???? I was young and didn’t know any better, don’t judge me! I bet you’ve done it too at some point;-) 

Luckily, I found this awesome green smoothie recipe that not only helps soothe that nasty hangover but also nourishes your body with essential vitamins, detoxifies AND helps relieve bloat. You don’t have to be hungover to drink this one, but if you are…..you can thank me now:-))

Here’s what you’ll need:


2 cups of spinach
1 cup coconut milk (I use Koko)
½ cup orange juice
1 large banana
½ cup pineapple
1 tablespoon of rice malt syrup (you can also use honey)
1 cup of ice
1 Cup of kiwi sliced 

1. Mix spinach, coconut milk, orange juice, banana, pineapple, honey and ice together and blend until smooth. Bish, Bash, Bosh and Voila!!!

Tip: If you don’t have fresh pineapple, feel free to substitute with strawberries or blueberries, frozen fruit will also do the trick. I also added some barleygrass, spirulina, wheatgrass and maca superfood powders to mine, because I’m extra like that… It’s totally optional.
